Joint Statement Expanding Bilateral Relations between China and Sri Lanka During State Visit

During the president of Sri Lanka's visit to China, China and Sri Lanka signed a series of cooperation documents to deepen their bilateral ties. These documents span various sectors, including agriculture, tourism, livelihood assistance, the media, and others.
China and Sri Lanka have shared positive evaluations of their wide-ranging cooperation and in-depth exchanges on agriculture. Moreover, the two sides desire to continue maritime cooperation, deepen cooperation on education, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in sports and media, and expand cooperation in fields such as logistics, green development, and the digital economy to propel their high-quality and mutually beneficial practical cooperation.
China and Sri Lanka have consistently respected each other with friendly bilateral relations over the 68 years of diplomatic ties. The two sides were pleased to sign a further cooperation plan to upgrade the China-Sri Lanka high-quality Belt and Road cooperation and jointly open up new space for win-win development of higher standard, stronger resilience and greater sustainability.
